Portfolios assigned to Ministers, Mufti Keeps Home
According to reports, Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh (Deputy Chief Minister) has been assigned the charge of Power Development and Housing & Urban Development Departments.
Hurriyat-turned -politician Sajad Gani Lone has been assigned charge of the Science and Technology and Animal Husbandry portfolios.
PDP’s banker and economist Dr Haseeb A Drabu is State’s Finance Minister. He has also been allotted Labour and Employment and Culture portfolios.
BJP’s Bali Bhagat has been assigned the charge of Social Welfare, Forest, Ecology and Environment.
PDP’s Abdul Rehman Veeri has been assigned the charge of Horticulture and Haj and Auqaf, while another party leader Syed Basharat Ahmed Bukhari has given the charge of Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs and Relief and Rehabilitation.
BJP’s Sukhnandan Kumar has been given PHE portfolio while party’s Bali Bhagat will be looking after Social Wefare, Forest, Ecology and Environment.
Another PDP’s Minister Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari has been assigned the charge of Public Works, Floriculture and Parks While party’s Shia leader Imran Raza Ansari has given the charge of Information Technology, Technical Education and Youth Services and Sports.
Chief Spokesman of Peoples Democratic Party Naeem Akhter who was inducted as a cabinet minister on Sunday has given the charge of Education.
Meanwhile, reports said Mufti will himself be looking after the Home and Tourism Department.
People's Democratic Party (PDP) supremo Mufti Mohammad Sayeed took oath as the new Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday at a special ceremony in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi here.
The electorate of Jammu and Kashmir elected a hung Assembly in December last year with the PDP emerging as the single largest party with 28 seats in the 87-member House.
The BJP emerged as the second largest party with 25 seats followed by the National Conference at 15 and Congress with 12. Smaller parties and independents won seven seats
