Pranab Mukherjee wishes on National Day of Iceland

New Delhi, June 16 (IBNS): President Pranab Mukherjee on Friday extended his greetings and felicitations to the Government and people of the Republic of Iceland on the eve of their National Day.

In a message to Guðni Th. Jóhannesson, the President of the Republic of Iceland, Mukherjee said, “On behalf of the Government, the people of India and on my own behalf, I have great pleasure in extending warm greetings and felicitations to Your Excellency and the people of the Republic of Iceland on the occasion of your National Day."

"The traditionally warm and friendly relations between our two countries are based on our shared values and common interests. I am confident that our two Governments will continue to work together in the coming years to further strengthen these close ties for the mutual benefit of our peoples," he said.

"I take this opportunity to convey to Your Excellency my best wishes for your good health and well-being and for the continued progress, peace and prosperity of the friendly people of the Republic of Iceland," Mukherjee said.
