Pranab to flag off the 'Run for Unity' at Rashtrapati Bhavan
The residents and staff of Rashtrapati Bhavan, the President’s Body Guard, the Army Guard and the Delhi Police will participate in the run.
The Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) pledge will be administered by Omita Paul, Secretary to the President to all staff prior to the run.
Another “Run for Unity” event will be flagged-off on Friday at capital’s Vijay Chowk area by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In this connection, some of the Government offices located in New Delhi’s central area were closed down from Thursday 2 pm onwards.
The buildings to be closed till 0930 hrs on Friday.
A large number of people are expected to participate in the ‘Run for Unity’ being organised in the National capital.
Modi will address the participants of ‘Run for Unity’ at Vijay Chowk and administer the Unity Pledge.
Before that, Prime Minister will pay floral tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at Patel Chowk, Parliament Street.It will be held at 0730 am.
The ‘Run for Unity’ will be flagged off from Vijay Chowk to India Gate on Rajpath.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will attend a programme ‘Run for Unity’ at Sardar Patel Statue in Nampally, Hyderabad.
Later, Rajnath will attend the passing out parade of Indian Police Service Officers at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy there.
