President attends 6th foundation day, 3rd convocation of ILBS

New Delhi, Jan 14 (IBNS) President Pranab Mukherjee attended the 6th Foundation Day and 3rd Convocation of the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) in New Delhi on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, the President said that ILBS, in a short span of six years, has given hope to millions of people by providing state-of-the-art patient care services at affordable cost, including advanced and dedicated research in the field of liver and biliary diseases.

It goes to the Institute’s credit that it has established a successful liver and kidney transplant program and has undertaken 283 liver transplants and 85 renal transplants till date with remarkable success, Mukherjee said.

He expressed hope that the Institute remains a role model and develops the best clinical protocols and operational systems in specialized liver care in line with global standards.

He complimented the entire team at ILBS for being able to train so many specialists in the niche area of liver diseases.

Mukherjee said that he was sure the institute shall usher in a new era in delivering quality public health services in the country.
