President's Rule in Jammu and Kashmir from Dec 20

| @indiablooms | Dec 19, 2018, at 07:45 pm

Srinagar, Dec 19 (IBNS): President's Rule will been imposed in Jammu and Kashmir from midnight, media reports said on Wednesday evening.

The Union cabinet took the decision on Monday after Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik sent a report recommending imposition of President’s rule in the state.

Jammu and Kashmir will be under President's Rule for the first time since 1996.

The state of Jammu and Kashmir has been under the Governor's Rule since June when the BJP withdrew support to Mehbooba Mufti's PDP government.

In November, governor Satya Pal Malik dissolved the Legislative Assembly, citing the “impossibility of forming a stable government by the coming together of political parties with opposing political ideologies”.
