Prime Minister Modi congratulates Thailand PM Paetongtarn Shinawatra following her appointment

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday wished Paetongtarn Shinawatra after she was elected as Thai PM.

He wished to work with her to further strengthen bilateral ties between India and Thailand.

In his congratulatory post, Modi said: " Congratulations @ingshin on your election as the Prime Minister of Thailand. Best wishes for a very successful tenure. Look forward to working with you to further strengthen the bilateral ties between India and Thailand, that are based on the strong foundations of civilisational, cultural and people to people connect."

Thailand's king earlier formally endorsed her to become the PM of the country which is known as a major tourist destination across the globe.

Ahead of her appointment, Thailand's politics witnessed several developments when the Constitutional Court ousted her predecessor Srettha Thavisin.
