Problem has been nearly solved: Shyam SEL

Kolkata, July 20 (IBNS): In a significant development, Shyam SEL Power Limited, which had lodged a complaint alleging threats and extortion demands by criminals, on Sunday said problem in their plant have been 'nearly' solved.

 Shyam SEL Power Limited appreciated the West Bengal government for taking 'good steps' in solving the problem it was facing.

"Our plant is functioning well now. A problem had occurred and it has been nearly solved. The government has taken some good steps," a company official told media.

He said the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) have taken 'steps' in connection with the issue.

"Our trust on the government and the administration has been reinforced....We are getting complete cooperation from local authorities," he said.

Shyam SEL management earlier complained to the police that  company officials were being threatened.

The group had complained of threats and extortion demands by criminals.

The criminals are allegedly affiliated to the TMC.

The Shyam Group of Industries is one of the front runners in the iron and steel sector in the eastern half of the country.
