P. T. Usha’s husband V. Srinivasan passes away; PM Modi offers condolences

New Delhi/IBNS: V. Srinivasan, the husband of Indian Olympic Association (IOA) president and Rajya Sabha MP P. T. Usha, passed away in the early hours of Friday, media reports said. He was 67.

Srinivasan reportedly collapsed at his residence early Friday morning. He was rushed to a hospital but could not be revived, The Hindu reported.

A former central government employee, Srinivasan was known to be a strong pillar of support for P.T. Usha throughout her illustrious sporting career and later during her public and political life.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to P.T. Usha and conveyed his condolences over the loss.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju also mourned Srinivasan’s demise. In a post on X, he said, “Deeply saddened to learn about the passing away of Shri V. Srinivasan ji, husband of Rajya Sabha MP & President of the Indian Olympic Association, @PTUshaOfficial ji. My heartfelt condolences to Usha ji & the bereaved family. Prayers for strength in this difficult time. Om Shanti.”
