Puducherry: Fisherman hacked to death

Puducherry/UNI: A middle-aged fisherman was hacked to death by an unidentified gang near Madha Church in Muthialpet on Sunday.

The victim Shankar alias Loganathan, a native of Kuruchikuppam and a staff member on Non Muster Roll (NMR) in Public Works Department (PWD) here was waylaid by the gang, when he was riding the motorcycle and hacked him mostly on his head and face beyond recognition.

Muthialpet police seized the body and sent it for post-mortem.
A case has been registered .

The murder is said to be in retaliation to a previous murder in the area.
