Punjab: 2 held with heroin, pistols, cartridges

Hoshiarpur: Hoshiarpur CIA Staff arrested two persons and seized heroin, intoxicant powder, pistols alongwith live cartridges and magazines from them.

According to the police sources, acting on a tip-off, a police team headed by Inspector Lakhbir Singh intercepted a car at a hightech check post at Rara bridge on Saturday night.

During personal search of the car occupants identified as Dilbag Singh alias Baga of Gohalwal (Tarn Taran City) and Balraj Singh alias Baj of Muradpur (Qadian) and seized 100 gram heroin and 260 gram intoxicant powder from them. Police also recovered two 32 bore pistols alongwith 4 live cartridges and 2 spare magazines hidden under the rear seat of the car.

Both the accused have been booked under sections 22, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act and sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act.
