Rahul Gandhi visits injured in Arunachal violence

Guwahati, Feb 26 (UNI/IBNS): Congress president Rahul Gandhi today visited two persons, injured in the violence in Arunachal Pradesh, admitted at a local hospital here.

Gandhi, who is on a day-long visit to Guwahati, called on the two injured at Apollo Hospital after his arrival in the city.

He drove straight to the hospital after landing in the city.

The Congress president was accompanied by state party in-charge Harish Rawat and state party chief Ripun Bora, among others.

He enquired about the recovery and treatment of the two persons, who were among those injured in the largescale violence that had engulfed Arunachal Pradesh capital Itanagar last week.

Later addressing a public rally in the city, Gandhi blamed the BJP government in Arunachal Pradesh for the violence and alleged that the BJP wants unrest across the country.

The Congress chief will also hold a meeting of Northeast Congress Coordination Committee and a separate meeting with presidents of district committees and booth committees of North East of the party.
