New Delhi, Apr 30 (IBNS): Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Monday greeted all countrymen on the occasion of Buddha Purnima.

In a tweet, Rahul said in Hindi: "Best wishes to all of you on the occasion of Buddha Purnima. Let the teachings and messages of Lord Buddha inspire the world to tread on the path of peace, friendship and kindness."

Buddha Purnima is observed by the Buddhist community across the globe.

Earlier PM Modi tweeted, "The message of Lord Buddha spread far and wide. Here are some glimpses from my visits overseas, during which I have had the honour to pay tributes to Lord Buddha."
