Rahul, Priyanka visit Amethi

Amethi, May 21 (IBNS): Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday visited Amethi Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh.

Gandhi managed to win the Lok Sabha polls from Amethi by beating Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s Smriti Irani on Friday.

According to reports, Rahul and Priyanka discussed the poll debacle with party leaders  and met party workers.

"Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi are visiting #Amethi today to meet party workers," the Congress tweeted.

Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi later visited a village in which 67 houses were gutted on Monday.

They supervised the distribution of relief material in the village.

This was Rahul's visit to Amethi after the Congress party's poor show in the Lok Sabha polls.

Narendra Modi-led the BJP and the NDA to a historic win against the Congress by winning a whopping 336 seats in the recently concluded Lok Sabha election.
