Rahul slams Modi over his 'Make in India' campaign

New Delhi, June 9 (IBNS): Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his 'Make in India' campaign and said it showed a lion 'which can't roar'.

"We discussed about Make in India campaign. We said its a huge lion but you can't hear him roar," Gandhi told media.

"Modi ji says that he give money to Chief Ministers on one hand and take away the money on the other hand.We discussed on this issue," he said.

He said Modi has not been able to create employment in the country as was promised by him before winning the polls last year.

Gandhi made the remarks after the Congress CMs Meet.

In an all out attack on Modi, former Indian PM Manmohan Singh said his successor has been a more adept salesman than him.

"I have to acknowledge that my successor has been a more adept salesman, event manager and communicator than me," the Congress tweeted quoting Singh.

"Many of our initiatives are being repackaged and are being aggressively marketed as something new," Singh, who had served the country ten years as the PM, said.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi said: "Special status to North East given away is causing problem to our chief ministers."

"We had full discussion with Chief ministers regarding North East & discussed our own UPA programme," she said.

The Modi-led NDA government completed a year recently.
