Nagpur/Wardha, Oct 2 (IBNS): Congress' former and present presidents, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, respectively, reached Maharashtra as they will hold a rally in Wardha on Tuesday.

Along with the Congress' two topmost leaders, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh also reached Nagpur, ahead of the Gandhi Sankalp Rally, which will be held on the occasion of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary.

The Congress has shared some of the pictures on its Twitter handle.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi or Mahatma Gandhi, primarily a social activist, led the Indian independence movement against the British colonial government, which ruled India for nearly a century.

The birthday of Gandhi, who used to believed in peace and non-violence, is also celebrated by the United Nations as the International Day of Non Violence to honour the Father of the Nation.

Both Sonia and her son Rahul paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat on Tuesday morning.
