Rahul tries to reach out to middle class on Real Estate Bill issue
Rahul met the organisations representing home-buyers at the Congress headquarters and assured them of his support against the Bill, which has allegedly diluted penalties for late delivery of homes and does not have safeguards against money being diverted from one project to another.
" The government is working against tribals, farmers and also the middle class. NDA's Real Estate Bill is pro-builder and has diluted safeguards for buyers brought by UPA government," he said.
The Real Estate (Development and Regulation) Bill will be introduced by the BJP-led NDA government in Rajya Sabha on wednesday. The law was proposed during the UPA rule to regulate real estate sector following widespread complaints from consumers. However, the NDA government made changes to the Bill inviting resistance from the opposition.
