Jaipur, June 17 (IBNS) : A group of civic employees allegedly lynched a 52-year-old man in Rajasthan's Pratapgarh on Friday when he tried to stop them from taking photographs of some women defecating in the open in the tribal-dominated Bagwasa slum area, The Hindu reported.

According to reports, the incident took place when  Municipal Council employees were on an early morning round in a slum locality to stop open defecation.

Zafar Khan, a social worker attached to Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC), was assaulted by the municipal employees when he intervened and argued with them as they tried to scare away and take photographs of the women..

The civic employees allegedly kicked, punched and beat Khan with a stick, which ultimately  led to his death in a hospital, according to the complaint lodged by his brother Noor Mohammed with the police.

The police have deployed personnel to maintain law and order in the area and a case has been registered.
