Kolkata, Feb 12 (IBNS): A Barasat court in West Bengal convicted the three accused in connection with Rajib Das murder case on Thursday.

On Feb 14 in 2011, Rajib Das protested against his sister Rinku Das's molestation by some drunk local goons at Kachari Maidan area at Barasat town in North 24-Parganas district.

The accused had killed Rajib.

The police had arrested the accused persons and Rajib's sister Rinku identified the killers of her brother.

First Additional District Judge of Barasat District and Sessions Court Prabir Kumar Mishra convicted the three accused persons in this case, who were identified as  Biswanath Chatterjee, Mithun Das and Monojit Biswas, under sections 302 (punishment for murder), 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of IPC and section 25 of Arms Act.

The court will announce the quantum of punishment on Friday.

Rajib's sister Rindu Das said that she was very happy after the judgment.
