Rajnath Singh is recovering well: Defence official

New Delhi/UNI: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is recovering well after he tested positive for the coronavirus a day back, Defence Ministry spokesperson said on Tuesday.

"A team of doctors from Army Hospital (Research & Referral), Delhi Cantt examined Rajnath Singh who had tested COVID positive yesterday. He is recovering well," Ministry of Defence Spokesperson A Bharat Bhushan Babu said on Twitter giving an update on the minister's health.

Army Hospital (R&R), located in Delhi Cantonment, is the apex flagship medical care centre for the armed forces of India.

Rajnath Singh tweeted on Monday that he was tested positive for Coronavirus with mild symptoms and that he was under under home quarantine.

The minister requested everyone who had come in contact with him to isolate themselves and get tested.

Rajnath Singh's deputy in the Ministry, MoS Defence Ajay Bhatt too tested positive for Covid on the same day with mild symptoms. He too has been under home quarantine.

Several leaders cutting across political lines and a few chief ministers have also been found to be infected with the rapidly spreading virus over the last couple of days.
