Jamshedpur/UNI: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Saturday said Ram Mandir has never been an election issue for the BJP but it was rather an issue of belief of the people as Ram is a symbol of Indian culture.

Addressing a press conference here, he said that the decision of the Supreme Court is being respected by all. He said, the day was an important one for the entire country as Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the Kartarpur corridor which has fulfilled the dreams of the Sikh community.

"This judgement has brought Acche Din for the country as now a grand temple can be built at Ayodhya, five acres of land has been given for building a mosque and Kartarpur corridor has been opened," he said and lauded the work done by Supreme Court led by the Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi for delivering a time bound verdict.

The Chief Minister said people of Jharkhand have always set an example of peace and brotherhood and all the people are appreciating the decision. He said that unity in diversity was specialty of India and people cutting across caste, creed and community were appreciating the verdict.

Though Mr Das did not take many political questions but he confirmed that he will file his nomination for the upcoming Assembly election from the Jamshedpur East Seat on November 18.
