Ram Temple will be built at any cost: Shiv Sena chief Udhav Thackeray

Ayodhya, Jun 16 (UNI) Amid raising of Jai Shree Ram slogans, the newly-elected Shiv Sena Lok Sabha members, led by Uddhav Thackeray, took the blessings of Lord Ram here at the makeshift temple on Sunday, with demand for construction of the grand Ram temple at the earliest.

The Sena MPs, along with Thackeray, his wife and son Aditya, worshipped at the Ram Temple here on the eve of the first sitting of the 17th Parliament session on Monday.

"We had partnered with BJP, only for the construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhya. Now, as BJP has got full majority, the process for Ram Temple should start," Thackeray told mediapersons, after worshipping at the Ram Pall temple.

The Shiv Sena chief said, 'The entire country wants Ram Temple and we also said - first temple, then government.

'We know very well that Prime Minister Narendra Modi can make the Ram Temple and we are with him. Modiji had solved several vexed issues and Ram Temple can only be resolved by him. had It seems that the process for the Ram Temple has started and Shiv Sena is ready ro support tge BJP if they bring an Ordinance for the Ram temple ," he said.

Expressing his close attachment with Lord Ram and Ayodhya, Mr Thackeray said, "I want to come here regularly, but if I do it, people will say I am doing politics. But this time, I wanted that my new MPs start their Lok Sabha session, after taking blessings from Lord Ram."

While 10 Shiv Sena MPs reached Ayodhya on Saturday evening, the rest eight reached this temple town, along with Mr Thackeray and his family, this morning.

The Sena chief and his family had worshipped at the Ram Lalla Temple on November 25 last, before the Lok Sabha polls.

Police had a hard time and was forced to use some force, when some local Shiv Sainiks protested, after they were not allowed to meet Mr Thackeray.

Meanwhile, Iqbal Ansari, one of the plaintiff in the Ramjanambhoomi title suit, has questioned the reason for the visit of Shiv Sena MPs in the temple city.

"When the Supreme Court is hearing the matter, then everyone should have some patience. Let the court decide on the issue," he said.

Talking to reporters, Iqbal said "We welcome the pilgrims in Ayodhya for worshipping at the temples, but coming with 18 MPs is not certainly a religious visit, but a political agenda of Shiv Sena."
