New Delhi, Sept 8 (IBNS): Relationship with China is one of a kind. It is co-operative, yet competitive—media quoted India’s Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj as saying.

On Monday, Swaraj presented a report card of her ministry’s 100-day work. During this occasion while interacting with reporters, FM said that, “The three months were very difficult but we worked hard. Within 3 months a lot of work has been done.”

She added, “During BRICS we met leaders of 11 Latin American countries. On September 30, Modi will meet US President Barak Obama.”

On India’s foreign policies, Sushma said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA Government is proactive, strong and sensitive.

It is sending positive and strong messages.

She said, “We told China that we believe in one China policy, you should believe in one India policy.”

She termed India's relationship with China is one of cooperation and competition.

Stating that, 1000 students were evacuated from Ukraine, 6593 citizens were evacuated from Iraq, 3183 from Libya – Sushma tried to highlight that the government is also equally sensitive and sensible towards own people.

As a matter of fact, Foreign Ministry was the top on the list to start work immediately after the swearing-in of new government in May this year.

Sushma said, “Diplomacy tells you how to have better ties with neighbours.”

She added, “PM had invited all heads of SAARC states to the swearing-in... so our diplomacy started immediately after the swearing-in.”

FM reiterated that the current government is giving utmost importance to ‘Look East’ policy.

She said, “'Look East' is an important policy. I visited Myanmar, Singapore and Vietnam. I'll be going to Afghanistan in the next few days. PM went to Japan.”

I am happy to inform you that there is no shortage of passport booklets today  - when I took over 5.37 lakh booklets were short.”

Sushma said “We will open passport seva kendras in all north-eastern states by next year and organize passport camps in districts.

Website for families of any Indian who has unfortunately died abroad -- will help in tracking the bodies being brought back home.”
