Rose Valley financial scam: CBI summons Sudip Bandyopadhyay, Tapas Pal for interrogation

Kolkata, Dec 27 (IBNS): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday summoned two Lok Sabha MPs of Trinamool Congress (TMC), Sudip Bandyopadhyay and Tapas Pal, in connection with its ongoing probe into multi-crore Rose Valley chit fund scam, officials said.

According to reports, the central probe agency has asked the TMC MPs to attend its office at CGO Complex in Kolkata's Salt Lake area by Dec 30.

The CBI earlier sent two notices to Sudip Bandyopadhyay, asking his attendance at its office for interrogation in the same case, which were avoided by the TMC MP.

After receiving the second notice from CBI on Dec 20, Sudip Bandyopadhyay informed the investigation agency that he would appear before it in the first week of January, 2017.

However, rejecting the MP's request, CBI sent third notice to Sudip and asked him to appear before its investigators on Dec 30.
