Kolkata, Jan 3 (IBNS): The Criminal Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday afternoon booked Trinamool Congress (TMC) Lok Sabha MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay in connection with its ongoing investigation into Rose Valley chit fund scam, officials said.

After receiving at least three summons from the CBI, Sudip Bandyopadhyay visited the Central probe agency's office at CGO Complex in Kolkata's Salt Lake area in the morning.

After being grilled for nearly four and half hours, CBI arrested the TMC leader.

Meanwhile, TMC Secretary General Partha Chatterjee called the CBI action a vendetta politics of BJP government in Centre.

Earlier on Friday (Dec 30), actor-turned-TMC Lok Sabha MP Tapas Pal was arrested by the CBI in the same case.
