SAD condemns Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath for distorting verses of Gurbani

Chandigarh, Jul 28 (UNI) The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Sunday strongly condemned Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath for committing the biggest sacrilege as a head of the state by distorting the pious verses of tenth Sikh Guru Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji while rephrasing them for his personal glorification and demanded stern action against the Congress leader for intentionally hurting the Sikh sentiments.

In a statement here, SAD leader and former CPS Virsa Singh Valtoha said that the horrendous past of Kamal Nath has been refreshed in the minds of Sikh masses with his latest ghastly act of misusing and distorting the pious Gurbani.

“Kamal Nath has given a terrible shock to the Sikhs by purposely showing disrespect to the famous verses of the tenth Sikh Guru through a post on his Facebook page. He knew very well that his act would hurt the feelings of the entire Sikh community as he has had a history of orchestrating mass killings of Sikhs back in 1984” he recalled, adding that Kamal Nath’s latest attempt to distort Gurbani was akin to the second attack on the Sikh community which shows that his anti-Sikh mindset has not changed.

Giving details of Kamal Nath’s sacrilegious act, the SAD leader said the Madhya Pradesh CM has knowingly misused the famous verses of the Tenth Sikh Guru ‘Sawa Lakh se ek Laddayun tabeh Gobind Singh Naam Kahaoon (Make every Sikh fight a hundred thousand, only then shall I be called Gobind Singh) by adding his name in place of the tenth Guru.

“This is the biggest sacrilege to the Gurbani committed by a man sitting on the most responsible chair of the state. A stern action should be taken against him for deliberately hurting the religious feelings of a community. He should also apologize to the entire Sikh community for his blasphemous act” he added.

Valtoha warned the Congress leader that if he fails to tender an apology to the Sikh community immediately, the SAD would launch an agitation to force him to do the same.
