SC directs Centre to end deadlock over Delhi govt formation
The apex court has asked the Centre over what steps has it taken to facilitate the formation of a government in Delhi.
The SC questioned why the elected MLAs should be sitting at home.
It has also asked the Centre if it would keep the assembly in suspended animation as both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have maintained that they are not ready to form a government in Delhi.
SC made the observations while hearing a PIL filed by the AAP.
After remaining in power for 49 days, Kejriwal resigned as the Delhi Chief Minister as his AAP government-backed Jan Lokpal bill was not tabled in the Delhi Assembly on Feb 14.
