SC exempts Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal from personally appearing in Amethi court

New Delhi, Sept 22 (IBNS) The Supreme Court on Tuesday exempted Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal for now from personally appearing before a Amethi court in Uttar Pradesh in connection with a case against him on making alleged inflammatory speech.

The order was given by a bench comprising Justices J Chelameswar and A M Sapre.

The bench said the personal appearance of the petitioner, who is the AAP supremo,before the trial court is dispensed away with till further order .

The case is connected with Kejriwal for allegedly making inflammatory speech  in the run-up to 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

A bailable warrant was issued against Kejriwal by the  judicial magistrate on July 20 this year.
