Second tallest national flag unfurled in Hyderabad
The flag, 72-feet high and 108-feet wide,was hoisted on a pole 291 feet and the project cost about rupees two crore, media reported.
According to media reports, the tallest national flag is hoisted from a 293 feet pole in Ranchi, Jharkhand but its dimensions are slightly smaller, 66-feet-high and 99-feet-wide.
According to the Deccan Chronicle, the government has planned elaborate celebrations to observe the statehood day on Thursday, including ordering 25 kg of sweets for each gram panchayat and about 50 gm of sweets for nearly 10,000 daily wage workers in every district. It has also been reported that the city's various roads are being lit up at a cost of Rs 12 crore.
Telengana, India's 29th state, was formed on June 2, 2014 with Hyderabad as the capital.
