Security forces apprehend four NDFB (S) militants with arms-ammunition in Assam

Guwahati, Oct 31 (IBNS): Security forces have apprehended four militants of banned outfit NDFB (S) outfit from Assam’s Baksa and Chirang district, officials said on Wednesday.

Security forces have also recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition in possession from them.

The troops of Red Horns Division and Baksa district Police carried out a two-day long operation Oct 30 and 31 to track down NDFB(S) militants in Baksa and Chirang district linked with possession, movement of warlike stores.

During this period, relentless search and multiple mobile check posts were laid by army and police to nab these suspected individuals.

During the operation, security forces on Tuesday apprehended three militants who were moving in a white coloured Ford figo along with a 303 rifle, nine live rounds and four mobile phones.

“On further questioning it was learnt through one of the militants that another accomplice in Chirang district is also in possession of a AK-56 rifle.

On Wednesday, the team further proceeded to Chirang and cordoned off the suspected militant’s house.

The search of his house led to recovery of one Chinese AK-56 rifle, a US Made M2 Carbine and apprehension of one more militant of Bengtol vill.

The recoveries and apprehensions have dealt a massive blow to the morale of anti-national elements and insurgents operating in Baksa and Chirang districts.
