Srinagar/UNI: Security forces on Friday launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in central Jammu and Kashmir district of Budgam.

Official sources told UNI that following specific information about presence of militants, a joint CASO was launched by Special Operations Group (SOG) of state police, Army and CRPF at Chadoora in Budgam despite chilly weather conditions.

They said the security forces were conducting house to house searches. ''The forces were also sanitizing snow covered open fields and orchards in the area,'' they said.

Sources said all the exit points have been sealed to foil any attempts by militants to escape.
