Services back to normal after minor fire breaks out at RML Hospital, Harsh Vardhan visits

New Delhi, June 22 (IBNS): A minor electric fire broke out in the wee hours of on Saturday morning at the Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Delhi, officials said.

It was doused immediately by the trained staff on duty with effective and efficient fire fighting system.

There was no casualty due to this accidental fire as vigilant and dedicated faculty and staff of the hospital ensured patient safety.

As a precautionary measure, more than 200 patients were immediately shifted to the trauma centre and other places safely, read an official statement.

Dr Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Ms Preeti Sudan, Secretary (HFW) along with other senior officers of the Ministry visited the hospital and took stock of the situation.

Dr Harsh Vardhan also interacted with the attendants and the patients who were shifted.

The situation is fully under control and emergency services are now functioning smoothly.

Electric supply that was temporarily suspended as a preventive measure has now been restored. The ICU services are also back to the normal.

The emergency services that were shifted to Trauma Centre have also been again shifted back to the ECS building at the ground floor. All the services including emergency services are functioning smoothly.
