Shazia Ilmi says will expose AAP, Kejriwal says he respects her

New Delhi, Jan 15 (IBNS) Amid speculations that she might join the BJP from AAP, journalist-turned-politician activist Shazia Ilmi on Thursday said she would expose the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for what it is even as AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal in a TV interview said he is fond of her.

"I really want to expose AAP for what it is and so, I'll do whatever I can to that effect," said Shazia, while not spelling out if she is joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

"I will let you know what my plans are for joining BJP or not," she said, adding that people, including volunteers, are disenchanted with AAP as they felt being short-changed.

"Give me some time [ to let you know]," she said when asked if she is joining BJP.

Meanwhile Arvind Kejriwal told NDTV: "I remain fond of Shazia, I will always respect her."

Kejriwal, however, in a re-tweet a day ago, brought to light a tweet post from Shazia Ilmi's 2013 views when she called BJP a party of hypocrisy.

'Hypocrisy, thy name is BJP,' Shazia had tweeted in 2013 on the source of funds for BJP to fight polls.

Ilmi  on Wednesday said she will not be fighting in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.

She made the remarks amid media reports that she is likely to join the BJP and will be contesting against AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal.
