New Delhi, Apr 7 (IBNS) : Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in New Delhi on Friday on a four-day visit to India, reports said.

In what is being viewed as a break from his normal practice, Prime Minister Narendra Modi received Hasina at the airport.

Ever since he became the PM, Modi has received only two other foreign dignitaries- former US President Barack Obama and UAE crown prince Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed.

"Delighted to welcome H.E. Sheikh Hasina, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh on her state visit to India," Modi tweeted.

Expressing hopes for cementing the bilateral relationship, Modi said in another tweet : "PM Sheikh Hasina and I are determined to take the relationship between our nations to a new level."

India is set to announce a line of credit of USD 500 million to Bangladesh for military supplies during the talks between the two leaders.

Also, launch of a new passenger service, making Maitree Express fully air-conditioned and facilitation by Indian Railways for launching a container train service are announcements likely to be made during the meet.

During Hasina’s visit to India, agreements in different areas, including the rail sector, are expected to be firmed up, among other things.
