Matters related to agriculture were discussed in detail. The areas covered include opening of agricultural institutions, compensation to farmers affected by hailstorms and agricultural insurance, the Ministry of Agriculture said in a statement.
Agriculture Minister assured the Chief Minister to consider setting up a veterinary college, a centre for excellence on wheat, and more Krishi Vigyan Kendras in the state.
The Centre would also give due consideration to the state’s request for relief for hailstorm affected farmers, the ministry said.
The state was badly affected by wide-spread hailstorms a few months back.
