Shocking mid-air drama: Passenger tries to open emergency door in IndiGo flight, claims ‘ghost possessed' him

The flight journey from Bengaluru to Varanasi turned into a scary ride for passengers after one of their co-travellers tried to open the emergency door mid-air, media reports said.

The passenger later claimed he was 'possessed by a ghost', forcing him to act abruptly during the flight.

The incident occurred in IndiGo's flight 6E-185, which took off from Bengaluru at around 8:15 PM on Saturday.

The passenger was identified as Mohammad Adnan, a resident of Uttar Pradesh.

Officials told NDTV that just 15 minutes into the journey, Adnan attempted to tamper with the emergency door.

The cabin crew members initially detected his act and cautioned him not to repeat it.

Adnan behaved normally for the rest of the journey. When the plane was about to land at the airport, he attempted to open the emergency gate once again.

According to reports, the pilot aborted the landing attempt, and after a go-around was conducted, the plane finally landed at 10.35 pm.

Following the protocol, the man was handed over to the airline's security personnel and the CISF (Central Industrial Security Force).

A case has been registered against him.

During the questioning, he initially said that he could not understand why he behaved that way and later, surprisingly, said he was 'possessed by a ghost'.
