Siachen soldier Lance Naik Hanumanthappa dies

New Delhi, Feb 10 (IBNS): Indian Army soldier Lance Naik Hanumanthappa , who was recovered alive six days after he was buried under more than thirty feet of snow and ice after an avalanche stuck their post in the early hours of Feb 3 in Siachen, died on Thursday here, Army source said.
He passed away at 1145 am after waging a battle to survive for days. He had slipped into a state of coma. 
 
An earlier medical bulletin had said that his condition has deteriorated despite aggressive therapy and supportive care at the Army Research and Referral Hospital.
 
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday visited Siachen avalanche survivor, Lance Naik Hanumanthappa, in hospital.
