Singer Daler Mehendi joins Bharatiya Janata Party

New Delhi, Apr 26 (UNI) In the series of celebrities teaming up with the BJP, Punjabi pop singer Daler Mehndi also joined the BJP on Friday.

All BJP candidates from Delhi -- Harsh Vardhan from Chandni Chowk, Manoj Tiwari from North-east Delhi, Pravesh Verma from West Delhi, Ramesh Bidhuri from South Delhi, Meenakshi Lekhi from New Delhi, ex-cricketer Gautam Gambhir from East Delhi and Sufi singer Hans Raj Hans from North west Delhi -- were present on the occasion.

Party national vice president Shyam Jaju and Union Minister Vijay Goel were also present on the occasion.

A few days back, actor Sunny Deol has joined the saffron party and is being fielded from Gurdaspur in Punjab.

Daler Mehndi is best known for his energetic dance songs, his distinctive voice, turban and long flowing robes.
