New Delhi, Mar 15 (IBNS) : Amid reports on the possibilities of he becoming Chief Minister heading a BJP Government in Uttar Pradesh, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday said such things are "unnecessary and futile speculation," NDTV reported.

Singh, 65, has served earlier as Chief Minister, and is among the party's most-senior leaders from UP.

The BJP has scored a landslide victory in India's largest and most populous state with the biggest result for a party since 1977.

On Thursday, the party and the allies' 325 newly-elected legislators will discuss the Chief Ministership issue.

The BJP has said party chief Amit Shah will take the final call.
