Students should develop compassion and service in their minds: Vice President Naidu

New Delhi, Sept 25 (IBNS): Vice President of India M. Venkaiah Naidu has said that students should develop compassion and service in their minds.

He was addressing the gathering after going through the Innovation and Skill Development Activities at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Venkateswara Vidyalaya, in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday.

The Minister for Industries, Andhra Pradesh, N. Amarnath Reddy and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

The Vice President said that as students of this school they all have to make values in their lives.

He further said that students should respect their parents, teachers, and fellow citizens.

"We need to develop compassion and service in our minds and everybody should work together for the development of the country with a sense of collective responsibility," he added.

The Vice President advised the students to make it a habit to read good books right from a young age.

"We have many books that build personality and these books have innumerable values that our ancient saints, modern pioneers, and others have given with their experiences," he added.

The Vice President said that education is losing its relevance as it is treated as a means to get certificates and grades.

"There should be revolutionary changes in our education system which makes future generations of our nation," he added.
