Sushma Swaraj leaves for Bahrain on two-day visit

New Delhi, July 14 (IBNS): External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Saturday left for Bahrain on a two-day visit.

"  EAM @SushmaSwaraj departs for #Manama, Bahrain for the 2nd India-Bahrain High Joint Commission with Foreign Minister of Bahrain Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa," Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted.

The tweet said Swaraj will also call on other important dignitaries, address the Indian diaspora & inaugurate the new Embassy Complex.

She will co-chair the second high joint commission meeting with her Bahraini counterpart on Saturday.

Earlier, the MEA had said that this visit will provide an opportunity to not only cement a strong relationship with Bahrain to identify new areas of cooperation between the two sides. There are 3,50,000 Indians living in Bahrain and 3,000 Indian-owned joint ventures."
