Sushma Swaraj promises to help in bringing body of Indian from Japan

New Delhi, Dec 18 (IBNS): External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Sunday promised to bring back the mortal remains of an Indian national who passed away in Tokyo recently.

According to media reports,  Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chairperson Swati Maliwal had earlier written to Swaraj, requesting her to help in bringing back the mortal remains of the Indian national.

Swaraj tweeted: "We will bear all the expenses and do this without delay."

The deceased has been identified as Gopal Ram.

He passed away eight days ago in Japan.

Swaraj is currently recovering in a Delhi hospital after she underwent a kidney transplant on Dec 10.

She has been responding to requests for help even when she is recovering in the hospital.
