Suspected militants killed trader in Assam's Majuli

Guwahati, Nov 14 (IBNS) : A trader was killed by suspected militants of United Liberation Front of Asom (Independence) in Assam’s Majuli river island on Friday, police said.

Two suspected ULFA(I) militants killed the trader at Kamalabari area in Majuli under Jorhat district on Friday morning.

“Shivaji Prasad was seriously injured and taken away to Jorhat Medical College hospital. But he succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital,” a top police official said.

The police have recovered empty bullets from the area and launched an operation to nab the militants.
