Syed Akbaruddin appointed as India's new permanent representative to United Nations
New Delhi, Nov 16 (IBNS): Former MEA Spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin has been appointed as new permanent representative of India to the United Nations in New York, the Indian government confirmed on Monday.
"Shri Syed Akbaruddin, (IFS:1985), currently Additional Secretary in the Ministry, has been appointed as the next Ambassador/Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations at New York" read a statement issued by the MEA.
He will replace Asoke Kumar Mukherjee.
