Chennai, Feb 20 (IBNS) : Tamil Nadu Governor C Vidyasagar Rao has asked for a report from the assembly secretary on the incidents during the trust vote on Saturday, NDTV reports.

Violence and total anarchy marked the Trust vote that Chief Ministers E Palaniswamy sought with DMK supporters going on a rampage after Speaker P Dhanapal rejected the demand for secret ballots.

The DMK as well as AIADMK's rebel lead O Paneeselvam also requested for postponement of the Trust vote.

The Speaker went ahead with his decision and the Palaniswamy Governmnt  won the trust vote with 122 votes amid  violence and disorder that forced the adjournment of proceedings twice.

Chairs were thrown, tables  toppled, papers thrown in the air and the Speaker's microphone was yanked by lawmakers. In the melee, the Speaker was manhandled and left the House with escorts.
