Temporary relief for Salman in illegal arms case

Jodhpur, Mar 3(IBNS) In a a temporary relief to Bollywood film star Salman Khan, a Jodhpur court on Tuesday allowed prosecution's application seeking re-examination of four witnesses in Arms Act case in connection with the alleged poaching of black bucks in 1998.

The matter will be heard by the court on March 10.

Earlier, on February 25, the court had deferred its judgment saying that it will decide on applications filed by prosecution on March 3 requesting examination of 9 witnesses in the case.

Salman was accused of poaching blackbucks on  Oct 1-2, 1998 at a village near Jodhpur during the shooting of  Hindi movie 'Hum Saath Saath Hain'. He was accompanied by few other film stars.

Two black bucks, an endangered and protected animal, were killed.

Salman was also accused of possessing and using illegal arms..

A police complaint was filed against Salman Khan on charges of being involved in hunting of the protected black bucks.
