Ten dead as stone quarry collapses in Mizoram amid heavy rains

A stone quarry collapsed in Mizoram's Aizawl district on Tuesday amid incessant and heavy rainfall in the region which left at least 10 people dead and several others missing, police said.

Several trees and electric poles have been uprooted in the region.

Many roads were blocked following landslides reported from several areas.

According to reports, search operation has been launched in the region.

All school remains shut in the state due to heavy rains.

Government offices, except those involved with emergency services, have been asked to shift to 'world from home' mode of operation.
