Thousands of youths, activists of Bajrang Dal, Shiv Sena, and VHP reached the spot and shouted anti-police slogans seeking suspension of the Head Const able and handing over to the youth, who indulged into the act.

Police and paramilitary forces sealed the area and tried to pacify the situation but the mob was on rage as they torched two buses of Police Public School, Miran Sahib. Agitators also pelted stones at the police party while police in return fired smoke shells to disperse them and control the Law and Order problem.

The CCTV foot age, which got viral on social sites, showed the youth indulging into an act of desecration inside the temple.

“Situation is normal and it was hectic day for us maintain Law and order in the town,” said District Magistrate Jammu Simrandeep Singh to IBNS on phone.

Police arrest accused person during Tuesday night, police are interrogating the person why he vandalized the temple, magistrate added.
