New Delhi/UNI/IBNS: The Delhi police special cell has averted a likely terror strike by recovering an IED with the apprehension of three persons, the police said on Monday.

The terror module has been busted by the Delhi police special cell that was likely to strike one of the metropolitan cities.

According to media reports, the detained persons are linked to an Islamic State terror module.

The trio was arrested from Guwahati in Assam and have been identified as Muqaddas Islam, Ranjit Ali, Lewis Jamil Jamal.

DCP Pramod Kushwaha of Delhi Police Special Cell said a terror-strike on Delhi was averted after the arrest of three men carrying explosive materials used to devise bombs and Improvise Explosive Devices(IED). They are suspected to be influenced by Islamic State, he added.
