A young woman in Uttar Pradesh's Banda district lost her life while attempting a film for a video, marking the dangerous trend of social media addiction and creating viral reels that have gained popularity over recent years.

The incident happened when 27-year-old Mohini attempted to create a reel for herself.

Family members told NDTV that she was trying to create a hanging scene.

In her attempt to create the reel, she stood on a stool and tied the noose around her neck, trying to create a movie on her mobile phone.

It is still not clear whether she slipped or lost balance, leading to the tragedy.

The incident came to light after the victim's daughter entered the room.

She screamed for help after finding her mother hanging, leaving neighbours to rush to the room where the incident occurred.

Police later went to the spot and sent the body for a post-mortem.

The case is currently under investigation.
