TransAsia flight crashes into river Taipei
Taipei, Feb 4 (IBNS): A TransAsia Airways flight crashed into a river in Taipei on Wednesday, media reports said. The flight was carrying at least 53 passengers.
The plane was a French-made twin-engine turboprop ATR 72 with a two-pilot air crew.
According to Taiwan’s Central News Agency, altogether 10 people were awaiting rescue after the incident.
Sources said the flight from Taipei to Kinmen lost contact with flight controllers at about 10.55 am and the fuselage landed in the Keelung River near the city's downtown Sungshan airport.
